'When Olav van Zijl (39) moved from the Netherlands to the USA in 2002, he never thought that he’ll be ending up as a successful Dutch voice actor. He worked as a trucker for an organic produce wholesale company, was a wildland fire fighter and attended flight school before completing his first Dutch voice over recording for Citibank at SuperDigital studio in Portland-OR. In the following 18 months his Dutch voice was used in a variety of projects, he was casted for two movies and provided Dutch speech coaching on a number of movie sets. Now almost 2 years later van Zijl runs his own company and hosts seminars and conferences in the role of Dutch/American Country Specialist for Aperian Global from Boston (

Dear Madam or Sir,
My name is Olav van Zijl. I am a successful Dutch Voice Actor, Country Specialist and Entrepreneur, from Seattle-WA. Together with a group of language specialists, I run 'Euro Language Services of America', providing voice acting, interpretation, speech coaching, medical transcription, subtitling and proofreading services in Dutch, English, German and French. Some of our clients include companies such as Exxon Mobil, CitiBank Group, Hilton Hotels, Northwest Airlines, Visa Credit Cards, Rosetta Stone, Walt Disney Pictures, SDI Subtitling and many more. In addition, I host seminars for 'Aperian Global' (

If you (or one of your colleagues) are ever in need of expertise regarding the relationship, differences and similarities between the Netherlands and US, please consider my input. In addition I have a very interesting immigration story to share. My experience as a business owner in both Amsterdam and the US gives me the opportunity to explain in detail the differences between the two nations in cultural business management, goals in regards to career development, social engagement and business etiquette. In addition, I am an active writer, very familiar with Amsterdam, and experienced with the written and audio/visual press.
If you have additional questions please feel free to contact me via 206-437-0342.
Thanks so much for your time.
Kind regards,
Olav van Zijl.
